Closed dies can be used to forge specific shapes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Ball dies are often used to create the center parts of flowers, feet for lamps, tables or art pieces, they can be eyes, decorative ends on hooks, etc.

The spring die used to make this ball is the product you would be buying, not the ball itself. Use 1 1/4 inch round stock to make this ball. Pictured below is the style of spring dye, however the actual die is larger than this (the head is appx 3 inches long). A more accurate picture will be provided soon.
